Our Spring Fundraising Sale has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus.

We are working diligently on a plan to continue meeting essential needs,

such as emergency and toiletry items.

Please consider supporting us through donations at this time.

Thank you for your continued blessings.

Message from our Board of Directors:

Due to the potential health risks to our volunteers and the community we serve, the Board of Directors met via teleconference and voted to make the following changes effective immediately.

Our Free and Boutique Stores, Incoming Donations and Community Outreach Events

As the World Health Organization declared a worldwide pandemic with the Coronavirus or COVID-19 and the Governor of Washington declaring limits of assembly of people and closure of schools, we recognize it is essential to close our operations at this time. Garage of Blessings will remain closed until government officials declare that the risk from the COVID-19 virus has passed, it is once again safe to gather, and we are able to safely resume operations. We anticipate our closure will last through the foreseeable future. We will keep the public informed through this website and our FaceBook pages when we are able to reopen.

Safety is Our #1 Priority

We feel the safety of our volunteers is paramount. We hold deep respect for the people who donate, volunteer and support the Garage of Blessings. Please know these decisions do not come easy, but we believe they are essential to ensure we look out for everyone’s health and best interests.

Emergent and Essential Goods

For those with ongoing or emergent needs for essential household goods, we will take requests and do our best to meet those needs.

The Board recognizes the essential nature of toiletry items, and the high demand at this time. We are working with our Executive Director to create a plan to continue offering these items if at all possible, while being mindful of health, safety, and our limited volunteers during this time.

Incoming Donations

We have suspended all incoming donations until further notice.

Community Outreach Events

The Garage of Blessings is unable to offer our community outreach events at this time. Once we are able to safely resume normal operations, we will work together on a plan to resume our community outreach events.

Fundraising Sale

Our fundraising sale has been cancelled. We will continue to follow recommendations from government officials and reevaluate the possibility of rescheduling when it is safe to do so.

Our main fundraiser is being halted in the interest of protecting those who serve others as well as the shoppers who support us. The money raised each year at our fundraising sale(s) pays for nearly all of our operations including rent, utilities and other expenses to keep our doors open to serve others. While we recognize this will be a huge loss of revenue, it is clearly the right thing to do for the volunteers, shoppers and the communities we serve.

Would you consider making a donation to support our giving efforts? If you are interested in donating, please click on the donate button or contact us for reoccurring donations. You may also mail in a donation to Garage of Blessings, PO Box 2760, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
