Garage Of Blessings will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas

AND Dec, 31, Jan 1st for the new year.

Message from our Board of Directors:

Due to the potential health risks to our volunteers and the community we serve, the Board of Directors met via teleconference and voted to make the following changes effective immediately.

Our Free and Boutique Stores, Incoming Donations, and Community Outreach Events

As everyone is learning to adapt to this worldwide pandemic Coronavirus or COVID-19, and the Governor of Washington now issued a "Safe Start Plan" for reopening, the Garage of Blessings has implemented a plan under the Phase III guidance to safely resume operations. We have adopted mandated measures that will remain in place through the foreseeable future. We are grateful to be able to reopen and continue to serve the public.

Safety is Our #1 Priority

We feel the safety of our volunteers is paramount. We hold a deep respect for the people who donate, volunteer and support the Garage of Blessings. Please know the decision to reopen required a lot of thought and planning. We believe our services to the community are essential and it is our goal to ensure we look out for everyone’s health and best interests.

Emergent and Essential Goods

For those with ongoing or emergent needs for essential household goods, we will take requests and do our best to meet those needs. The Board recognizes the essential nature of toiletry items and the high demand at this time. We are currently working diligently to continue offering these items while being mindful of health, safety, and our limited volunteers during this time.

Incoming Donations

We are now receiving tangible on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am - 3 pm

Community Outreach Events

The Garage of Blessings is unable to offer our community outreach events at this time due to Covid restrictions. Once we are able to safely resume such operations, we will work together on a plan to resume our community outreach events.

Fundraising Sale

Our fundraising sale was canceled due to Covid-19. We will continue to follow recommendations from government officials and reevaluate the possibility of rescheduling when it is safe to do so.

Our main fundraiser was halted in the interest of protecting those who serve others as well as the shoppers who support us. The money raised each year at our fundraising sale(s) pays for nearly all of our operations including rent, utilities, and other expenses to keep our doors open to serve others. While we recognize this will be a huge loss of revenue, it was clearly the right thing to do for the volunteers, shoppers, and the communities we serve. We encourage and solicit any and all monetary contributions that will assist in offsetting this deficit.

Would you consider making a donation to support our giving efforts? If you are interested in donating, please click on the donate button or contact us for reoccurring donations. You may also mail in a donation to Garage of Blessings, PO Box 115, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
