We wanted to share a quick update on the status of our move.

​

As many of you know, our rent doubled earlier this year when the owners of our current building decided to place the property up for sale. Unfortunately, early negotiations to purchase the building fell through and now require legal intervention. While we have been placed on a month-to-month lease, we are also being encouraged to vacate as quickly as possible.

​

The good news is that we have identified another property in central Oak Harbor. Our Board of Directors is working closely with a private partner, local financial institution, and real estate professionals to finalize the purchase. Because the process is still underway, we’ve been asked not to publicly share the address just yet...HOWEVER, in a small community like ours, we’re sure some neighbors may already know the location — so act surprised and help us keep it quiet, for now!

What we love most about this property is that it gives us room to grow. It’s centrally located, surrounded by wonderful neighbors, offers improved parking, remains accessible for those using public transit, and provides significantly more space for expansion across all charitable program areas. Most importantly, this property could become our forever home — a place rooted in community, compassion, and care.

​

While the Garage of Blessings remains financially sustainable in terms of our annual operations, our resources have been stretched thin by double lease payments, emergency repairs, and the substantial down payment required to secure financing for this new property. It’s more than we can cover alone.

​

We are incredibly grateful for the generous in person and online donations we’ve already received. Between those contributions, Boutique operations, Online Fundraising and additional events, we’ve raised a total of $24,708.82!

​

But we still need your help. We need community investors. 

​

The Garage of Blessings isn’t just for seniors, young families, unhoused neighbors, or single-parent households — it exists for our entire community. It exists for all of us.​ Every donation is an investment in our neighbors, their families, and the strength of our community as a whole. When we support one another and help individual households thrive, we create a stronger, healthier community for everyone.
